State Cyber Police in Gwalior
With the increasing usage of internet and online activities, cyber crime has also increased rapidly. State government of Madhya Pradesh has established special Cyber & Hi tech Crime Police Station to keep vigil on cyber crime in the state. State Government of Madhya Pradesh notified Office of the Inspector General of Police (State Cyber Police) as Cyber and Hi-Tech crime Police station on 4th July 2012. This department was established for the main purpose of investigation into all the cases related to Cyber Space, Hi-Tech crimes, Information Communication Technology, Copy Rights, Intellectual Property Rights, Piracy and other related offences which come under Indian Penal code, 1860. Jurisdiction of Gwalior city is under High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Principal Seat at Gwalior. Initially, main seat of High Court of Madhya Pradesh was established at Jabalpur. Thereafter temporary benches of High Court of Madhya Pradesh were constituted vide order dated on 1st Nov. 1956 by Hon’ble the Chief Justice at Indore and Gwalior respectively. Later permanent benches of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh were established at Indore and Gwalior by a Presidential Notification dated 28th Nov. 1968 and issued in the exercise of the powers conferred by the Subsection (2) of section 51 of the States Reorganization Act, 1956.
